I've been using this book for my Revit in Interior Design class. This is a fantastic book that details the steps for using Revit for the beginner Revit student. I like the fact that it is focused on Interior Designer so there are not any irrelevant exercises for practice.
What I also like are the diagrams and screen shots of the steps you are learning. There are not only screen shots, but the tools you are to select are circled or called out in some way. A screen shot is not useful if you don't know which tool to look for or select. In many areas, the book explains what happens if you don't do something correctly and how it may affect your project. There is only one suggestion for improvement I would make.
Chapter 6 starts with building floor plans and there is A LOT of information about the nuts and bolts, i. This is all before you even get into exercises creating a floor plan. Pages to is all this background and foundation information. Exercises to begin building a floor plan start on page I think there is a better way to integrate the information on the first 24 pages into more useful exercises. These 24 pages need to be broken up in some way.
All three flavors of the Revit platform are introduced in this textbook. The topics cover the design integration of most of the building disciplines: Architectural, Interior Design, Structural, Mechanical, Plumbing and Electrical.
